I loved the article by Whitney Clayton in the new August edition of the Ensign. I have read and pondered a few lines from that article over and over:
Our ability to do His will grows as we do His will.
It becomes easier because we grow in conviction and faith.
When we faithfully persist in applying the fundamentals of the gospel in our lives, the Lord blesses us with increased inner strength.
I think that this statement is powerful. If I am obedient and I seek to do the Lord's will, my ability will grow and it will become easier for me. As I "faithfully persist" in applying the fundamentals of the gospel I can be blessed with increased inner strength, and I want and need that inner strength!
Can living the gospel really become easier? Can we build a spiritual armor that protects us from the blows and darts of the adversary? I think that trials and hardships will continue to come, but a person can grow in their resolve, in their determination, in their firmness, and in their love. We grow as we "do His will." We add to our armor as we faithfully persist.
