A year ago we were at the oncologist's office attending appointments with my mother.  Since her passing, my father has struggled as he misses her terribly.  Last week my brother was diagnosed with cancer in his colon.  That is background information to the story that happened yesterday.

Yesterday in Utah county it snowed a lot and two people in my father's ward, at different times of the day, came over to shovel his driveway.  After one of the men shoveled, my father invited him in the house for a cup of hot cocoa and the man accepted the offer.  While he was in my father's house, a phone call came.  My father heard the news that a scan revealed that my brother's cancer was also in his lungs and liver.  This would have been heavy news for my father to hear.  My father got off the phone and explained to the man what he had just been told.  That man told my father that he had suffered from cancer in his bowels 15 years ago, had been treated, and was alive and well.

What are the chances of that man coming to my father's house yesterday to shovel, and being invited into the house for hot cocoa, and accepting the offer, and being there when the phone call cane in, and being able to talk with my father and comfort him?  The timing was incredible.

Little thing?  Coincidence?

I think it was a big thing and I thank heaven for lining it all up that way yesterday.
