Because someone I love is going through a rough patch of adversity right now, I share this quote from C. S. Lewis:

But if suffering is good, ought it not to be pursued rather than avoided?  I answer that suffering is not good in itself. What is good in any painful experience is, for the sufferer, his submission to the will of God, and, for the spectators, the compassion aroused and the acts of mercy to which it leads.

Here is a line from Elder Andersen's talk in October 2015 General Conference about faith:

Faith never demands an answer to every question but seeks the assurance and courage to move forward, sometimes acknowledging, "I don't know everything, but I do now enough to continue on the path of discipleship."

From Elder Keetch in the October 2015 General Conference:

True obedience, therefore, is giving ourselves entirely to Him and allowing Him to chart our course both in calm waters and in troubled ones, understanding that He can make more of us than we could ever make of ourselves.
