A couple of things that I have read recently that have made me smile:
On the last day of the year, my first graders gave me beautiful hand-written letters. As I read them aloud, my emotions got the better of me, and I started to choke up.
"I'm sorry," I said. "I'm having a hard time reading."
One of my students said, "Just sound it out."

My patient announced she had good news...and bad. "The medicine for my earache worked," she said.
"What's the bad news?" I asked.
"It tasted awful."
Since she was feeling better, I didn't have the heart to tell her they're called eardrops for a reason.

How come you never see a headline like "Physic Wins Lottery"?

I like to throw food parties. That's where you throw a party and invite only food.
