Tributes to three dads:
I didn't know when I married Matthew that he would be such a tremendous dad. I didn't know then that he would enjoy children, that he would like babies, that he would like holding them, spending time with them, and playing with them. I didn't know that he would volunteer to change their diapers or babysit them while I ran errands. As the children grew, he would sit on their beds at night and tell them stories. He took them fishing and hiking, he worked with them in the yard, and he supported them in their endeavors. Matthew is an unselfish man and he has shared his life with his family and done so happily. I appreciate the way he interviews the children, gives them blessings, and leads our family in righteousness. Lucky me to have married a man that is a fantastic dad! (and grandpa!)
I have a great dad! I love him, respect him and admire him. He is a determined worker, an avid learner, a sports enthusiast, and a generous philanthropist. He treats my mother like a queen and I appreciate the fact that he has always been loyal to her. I like talking with him. He makes me want to be a better person. I have cherished memories of hundreds of experiences and talks with him. I love the way he loves the gospel--he seeks after truth, he listens to the brethren, he reads and memorizes the scriptures, and he strives to keep on the straight path. I love my Dad!
This is a picture of my father-in-law, J. Richard Clarke, with his wife and seven of their eight children. I have been blessed to have Dad Clarke as a part of my life. He too is a man of integrity, of sound principles, a man who has set goals and worked hard, a man who has sacrificed to build the kingdom and who has also been watchful and caring to his family. He has been a great support to me and is always cheering me on. I admire his thirst for learning and his fabulous memory. He has invested a lot in my life and in the lives of my children. I love and admire him.
