Me Thinks

This is a picture of my husband walking a trail on Monday with a grandchild on his shoulders. My husband is the recipient of the "Husband of the Year" Award, and I will tell you why.

I'm aging, it's true.  I try not to worry about it or let it get me down, but one day last week I looked in the mirror and gasped when I saw circles under my eyes that would not go away, even with makeup. I blurted out, "I have permanent circles under my eyes now!" I was thinking to myself how the whole world had probably noticed and what was I to do? 

And do you know what that blessed husband of mine said to me?

"I hadn't noticed."

Really? He hadn't noticed? That was the best news ever!

Maybe he was just saying that to make me feel good, or maybe, just maybe, he and the rest of the world hadn't noticed the circles under my eyes and life was going to be okay.

I love him for saying that.
