I have been studying the attribute of humility and here are some things that I have learned:

A humble person has a modest estimate of one's own importance.  Being humble doesn't mean that you are stripped of self confidence.  A humble person thinks something of themself and also thinks something of others.

A humble person is aware of other people.

People who are humble speak up and state their opinion, and they also listen to the opinion of others.

A humble person is grateful and says thank you.

A humble person accepts responsibility. Instead of pointing to someone else or to the circumstances, a humble person says, "It's on me. My mistake. I'm sorry."

A humble person recognizes that they do not know everything and they cannot do everything. They ask for help and seek advice. A humble person is teachable.

A humble person is willing to try new things. He is not afraid of being a beginner.

A humble person doesn't need the applause or validation of the world. They can be satisfied with the validation inside of themselves, and/or the validation from heaven.

Humility is a moral muscle. You can strengthen it. You can become better at being humble.

Every time you bless the food before eating, you are showing humility as you thank God for something to eat, and for something to drink.

Every time you kneel to pray you are demonstrating humility. You are showing gratitude and an openness to God's counsel.

Every time you attend a church meeting, read the scriptures, attend the temple, reach out in service, or listen to General Conference you are showing humility.

In Alma 7:23, and 24, Alma lists many qualities that we should develop, such as: patience, long suffering, temperance, diligence, submissiveness, etc., but listen for the first quality Alma mentions, "And now I would that ye should be humble..."
