I regularly thank God that we live near our parents. At the stage of life they are at, they need us and we are happy to help them in whatever way we can. Last night we took dinner to Matthew's parents and celebrated his mother's birthday (a few days early). Thankfully, Grandpa was able to get out of his recliner and join us at the counter for dinner. I love my in-laws and think they are handling the effects of advanced age in a wonderful, patient, positive way.
