Several months ago I started memorizing the Bill of Rights. Those first ten amendments to the Constitution contain salient rights which all U.S. citizens enjoy--rights which citizens of other countries can only dream of. I feel very blessed to live in America.

We are fortunate to live in a land where the government does not establish a religion or prohibit the free exercise thereof.

We are fortunate to live in a land where the freedom of speech is not abridged.

We are fortunate to be able to peacefully assemble and petition the government for a redress of grievances.

We are fortunate to have the right to keep and bear arms.

We are fortunate to not have to worry about soldiers living in our houses without our consent.

We are fortunate to be secure in our houses, papers, persons, and effects against unreasonable searches.

We are fortunate to not have to worry about search warrants being issued without probable cause.

We are fortunate to not be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law.

We are fortunate that private property cannot be taken for public use without just compensation.

We are fortunate that when we are accused of a crime, we have the right of a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury.
