This week I have been reading about Solomon, and his life story stunned me. First I read about his birth, then his desire for wisdom and understanding. He was extremely successful and noted, and individuals traveled from far and wide to seek his counsel, bringing him wondrous gifts and treasures. God blessed Solomon and magnified his gifts. But then, after a lifetime of working in partnership with God, Solomon forsook Him and turned to the false Gods of his foreign wives. Solomon's story is heartbreaking and troubling and is an important reminder to me to endure to the end, remaining faithful all the days of my life.
