Justin Su'a is a sport's psychologist and mental performance coach. Here are some tips that he uses with athletes that I find helpful in my life:
1. Do what you do on purpose with purpose. The thing that separates the high-level performers vs. the average is deliberance. The think on purpose. They train on purpose. They prepare on purpose.
2. Not trying to be perfect but trying to be present. What happens to a lot of people is they let their fear of yesterday, or their fears of tomorrow get in the way of them being their best selves today.
3. You give power to what you focus on. Be mindful of where you're putting your attention because where you're putting attention, you're giving power to that thing.
4. You cannot underestimate the power of gratitude. Gratitude really dissolves the negativity of your mind, the desire to look inward, and helps you to look outward.
