We are studying the writings of Plato this month in a Sociology theory class. Plato lived 2400 hundred years ago and yet his writings are relevant today. He believed that we regain knowledge we have already possessed, termed his philosophy of recollection. Plato taught that the human soul is worth more than the body which imprisons it. Plato believed that the state will only be as good as its members. He said that the desire for toleration and the love of truth sometimes pull in opposite directions. So true!
