Today I read Mosiah chapters 4, 5 and 6. What choice chapters! I inserted "I" into the verses as if the scriptures were written specifically about and to me. Here are some thoughts/verses:
I cried aloud saying: O have mercy, and apply the atoning blood of Christ that I may receive forgiveness of my sins, and my heart may be purified; for I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created heaven and earth, and all things.
I believe in God. I believe that He is. I believe that He created all things, both in heaven and in earth. I believe that He has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth. I believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.
I believe that I must repent of my sins and forsake them, and humble myself before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that he would forgive me.
I should always retain in remembrance, the greatness of God, and my own nothingness, and his goodness and long-suffering towards me.
Am I not a beggar? Do I not depend upon the same Being, even God, for all the substance which I have, for both food and raiment, and for gold, and for silver, and for all the riches which I have of every kind?
I am willing to enter into a covenant with my God to do his will, and to be obedient to his commandments in all things that he shall command me, all the remainder of my days.
