I love Sundays. I love going to church and listening and learning. Last Sunday, we attended our three hour church block and then we had much to discuss at home, such as--
--Is the father the head of the home? Is there a head of the home or two co-heads? Why is the concept of a man being the spiritual leader of the home a hard concept for some women to accept?
--Is it better to try to cover many points in a lesson, or pick a couple of points and cover them well? When should a teacher "give-in" to comments, and when should she (he) proceed with her lesson plan?
--A general, negative comment was made about men and one woman stood up for men and took issue with the comment made about them. We discussed how we felt about this situation.
--Our Sacrament Meeting had the potential of being loud and wild as two large families were present to hear missionaries speak, but because most members of the family were in the chapel early and seated, there was a reverent atmosphere.
--A missionary shared an example from his mission of being ridiculed, beat upon, and spit on, and how he and his companion did not fight back, but took it. Then later that night, this missionary heard his companion pray for the man that was inflicting the abuse on them.
--There was great power in hearing these two young men bear testimony of the Savior, of repentance, of forgiveness, of God's love, of the plan of salvation, and of missions. We were uplifted and inspired.
There is so much to learn and to think about. The spirit showers my mind with thoughts and inspiration.
I thank the Lord that I have the opportunity to attend Church each Sunday.
