The best strategy to reduce stress during a busy day or week is to
think of tasks in new ways.

When I complain about how busy I am, it is as if someone put all these things on my plate without my approval.  When in fact, I made my life the way it is.  The questions is:  Is it all worth it?  If it is, be grateful and proud of everything you do.  If it's not, make a change.

Reframe your busy life as active, eventful, involved or lively.

Research has shown people thrive with full lives.
People who are busy are happier than people who are idle.

The above lines are from Megan Wycklendt in the Washington Post who offered an overview of research on "busyness."

My take on these comments:
I need to take a look at my life periodically to see if I am doing what I should be doing, and I need to check to see if my life is filled with tasks that are meaningful and/or needed.  And for those tasks that fit under the category of "meaningful" or "needed", am I being efficient in doing them, or is there a better way to get the same things accomplished?

I love the point about "thinking of tasks in a new ways."  If I think of a task as a "get-to" instead of a "have-to", I approach it very differently.

Will it make a difference if I say each morning, "How blessed I am to lead an active life?"  instead of "I am so busy!"  Does reframing make a difference?  I think so.

I am grateful to have things to do.  I am grateful that I am never bored.  I am happy to have many different things that interest me.
