This is a picture of my Mom and Dad. The picture was taken a couple of months ago on one of the last days they were able to work at the temple. They have been serving in the temple weekly for almost 13 years and it has been a very difficult thing for them to give up, but my mother is too sick now to work there and my father would like to be at home looking after her.
It has been said that love is not something you find; it's something you do.

Yes, love is something that my Mom and Dad "do."
This what I hear from my Dad...
"Go upstairs and check your mother please."
"See if she is ready to eat something this morning."
"Doesn't she look beautiful today?"
"She is the most wonderful person I know!"
"Carol, can I get you something?"
"Would you like a drink of milk or juice?"
"Can I get you another pillow?"
And then from my mother I hear...
"Vern has not been eating enough. See if he feels like something to eat."
"I know that I have been worrying him."
"Thank you. I'm just fine."
"I love you Dad."
The past few weeks have provided a sweet demonstration of "love in action" as my parents have shown their love for each other, my father being mainly in the caretaker role. I should say, the past few weeks have shown a magnification of the demonstration of love that I have witnessed my entire life between the two of them.
Love is something you do, and you do those kind and thoughtful things over and over again because you love and care deeply about the other person, and because their comfort and happiness is of upmost importance to you.
