The Relief Society President asked me to give a demonstration last night about how to make layered chocolates. Because of Valentine's Day, we made chocolates with raspberry flavoring, although my favorite kind of layered chocolate is the chocolate mint kind. I have been to Relief Society presentations before and thought, "This is too detailed and I will never make this", and I was thinking that someone in the audience last night might be thinking that about the chocolate demonstration and so I said to the ladies there, something like this,
"It's not about the chocolates. If you don't make this kind of layered chocolate, it is OK!
When you create something, whether it be a new recipe, a card, a song, even food coloring in the milk jug, it is a way of expressing love. That is one of the reasons I cook--because it is a way to show my family that I love and care about them.
I want to make my home an inviting place where people want to be. I want people to feel the spirit when they are in my home and I want them to enjoy themselves and to eat well."
