One of my favorite talks from the past General Conference was by Elder Klebingat. He made several great points, one of which was this:
Become really, really good at repenting thoroughly and quickly.
He adds,
Embrace the Atonement of Jesus Christ and repentance as things that are to be welcomed and applied daily. Establish an attitude of ongoing, happy, joyful repentance by making it your lifestyle of choice.
In the same conference, Elder Packer (the younger Elder Packer) said:
Frequent small corrections are less painful and disruptive than
large course corrections.
What a wonderful way of thinking--daily repentance, a regular "checking-in" with the Lord, an honest admittance of wrongdoings, and a desire and will to correct poor behavior. Because of what I learned in these talks, I try to include repentance in every personal prayer.
