Last month I had specific goals aimed at becoming more holy or God-like. The complete transformation from the natural man to a holy, God-like person did not happen in a month, at least not to me, but I found the goals and the studying helpful. Even though the month has ended, I will continue my quest. Here are a few more lines on the subject:
Harold B. Lee--It is impossible for us here in mortality to come to that state of perfection of which the master spoke, but in this life we lay the foundation on which we will build in eternity. Every one of us, if we would reach perfection, must one time ask ourselves this question, "What lack I yet?" if we would commence our climb upward on the highway to perfection.
Heber J. Grant--We are in a school, fitting, qualifying, and preparing ourselves that we may be worthy and capable of going back and dwelling in the presence of our Heavenly Father. The school of life in which we are placed and the lessons that are given to us by our Father will make us exactly what He desires.
I do not believe that any man lives up to his ideals, but if we are striving, if we are working, if we are trying, to the best of our ability, to improve day by day, then we are in the line of our duty, we are in the straight and narrow path that leads to life eternal; then we need have no fear.
JohnTaylor--It is necessary that we should have a knowledge our ourselves, of our true position and standing before God, and comprehend our strength and weakness.
Do not expect to become perfect at once. If you do, you will be disappointed. Be better today than you were yesterday, and be better tomorrow than you are today.

This is fantastic! It's so comforting to know we aren't expected to be perfect, just always progressing and moving closer to our Savior each day.
